Bahrain Center for Human Rights updates list of detained and missing to 800 people including 70 women and 19 doctors.

The Bahrain Center for Human Rights has updated its list of missing and detained persons to include approximately 800 people. The center has published a list which separates the names of medical personal who are in detention or are believed to be missing at the hands of the regime. This comes in light of international attention to the regime’s unprecedented practice of penalizing medical personnel who treat or are deemed to sympathize with participants in the pro-democracy struggle in Bahrain.
Following massive protests demanding democratic reforms and expanded political rights for the majority Shia population of Bahrain, the Kalifa absolute monarchy has conducted a relentless campaign of harassment, arrest, political murder and general intimidation against the Shia people and anyone suspected of sympathy with their cause.
